AI and unstructured data safety assessment for security and risk leaders
The Unstructured Data Security and AI Safety Assessment (UDSA) is an online self assessment I created to help organisations understand how AI and unstructured data introduce new safety, security and compliance risks. In around 10 to 15 minutes you receive a structured report that you can share with security, risk and leadership teams.
UDSA runs at udsa.datadid.io and is provided as an independent assessment engine. You can use it before, during or after AI projects to benchmark your current posture.
What the assessment covers
UDSA combines unstructured data security and AI safety into a single view, so you can see how traditional controls and newer AI enabled workflows interact.
- Data discovery, classification and inventory for files, documents and messages
- Access control and identity for people, systems and AI enabled services
- Data protection, encryption and leakage risks around unstructured information
- Monitoring, detection and incident response for data and AI use
- Governance, compliance and accountability for AI and data use
Your next steps
You can run the assessment yourself and then, if helpful, we can review the results together and discuss options.
What you receive from the assessment
At the end of the assessment you receive a structured report that summarises your current posture and highlights areas to focus on. The format is designed to be read by senior stakeholders without requiring deep technical detail.
- Overall score and breakdown across key domains
- Explanation of the main risks identified, including AI specific exposure
- Priority areas for investment and improvement
- Recommendations that can be aligned with your existing security and risk frameworks
- Clear language you can reuse for internal discussions and board updates
The report is not a replacement for a full assurance engagement, but it provides a fast, structured starting point. Many clients choose to follow up with a focused review of high risk areas identified by the assessment.
If you would like, we can walk through your results together and translate them into concrete next steps, architecture patterns or governance changes specific to your environment.
Questions and practical details
Who is the assessment for?
The assessment is designed for senior security, risk, data and technology leaders who are responsible for unstructured data and AI enabled services. It assumes familiarity with security and risk concepts rather than being a general awareness tool.
How long does it take?
Most teams complete the assessment in around 10 to 15 minutes. You can take longer if you wish to discuss individual questions internally.
What happens after I complete it?
You receive a report summarising your results. If you want a deeper discussion, you can use the contact form on my main site to arrange a confidential conversation focused on your environment and risk drivers.
Is this a sales tool?
The primary purpose is to give you a structured, honest view of your current position. It may highlight areas where I can help, but there is no obligation to engage further.
